Modern Dilemma: lending money to a friend
You're relatively well off with a good job and financial security. Your friend's husband rings you to explain that he is having a cash flow problem and asks to borrow money.
He also asks you to promise not to tell your friend-his wife. You agree to loan him the money, which was quite a substantial amount, as long as he pays you interest on it and pays it back by a certain date. You also agreed to keep it quiet.
He doesn't pay it back on time, and you have to chase him down. After much angst he eventually pays it back, with interest.
You don't mention anything to your friend and assume the situation is resolved but some time later he asks you for money again. How should you respond? Should you tell your friend?
