Monica Dux is an opinion writer, essayist and co-author of The Great Feminist Denial, published in 2008 by Melbourne University Press.
Monica was born in Sydney and studied for her undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney, before moving to Melbourne where she worked as a researcher for Professor Marilyn Lake. She later taught in the History Department at Melbourne University, while writing a PhD on one of her favorite topics: venereal disease. Having grown out of this fascination, she abandoned her thesis and fled the academy into publishing.
Since then Monica has worked on The Monthly magazine, at Melbourne University Publishing and was the Founding Editor of the interdisciplinary journal Traffic. In 2005 she began publishing her own work.
